A new kind of Zoey is about to take hold of Tinsletown, Zoey Deutch. The eighteen-year old actress will be gracing the bigscreen worldwide on Valentines Day as Emily Asher, in Alcon Entertainment‘s Beautiful Creaturs. Bello Watch caught up with the onscreen Beatitful cretaure herself, and she was kind of enough to give us insight into her role as
“Emily is the most popular girl in school, but probably the most insecure too – she has a lot of layers and that’s why she was so fun to play. She has her heart broken by Ethan, and doesn’t know how to channel her pain, which is why she develops such a hard shell.”
The film is an adaptation of the Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl young adult novels. Deatch will be playing alonside Emmy Rossum, fellow Bello cover boy Thomas Mann.
“Anger and pain always come from a deeper place, and the authors of Beautiful Creatures and Richard Lagravanese did a wonderful job of showing her broken heart underneath all of the cruelty towards others.” She tells Bello Watch.
The Beautiful Creatures actress was recently seen in the CW’s Ringer. But this year, her path is quite different. She’s set to star in the Daniel Waters directed ‘Vampire Academy,’ another book adaptation–leaving the witches behind and entering the world of vampires.
“Im so grateful for how the path of my life has gone thus far. It has been so fun to work and I hope I get to do so for the rest of my life, whether it be TV, movies, plays, etc.” The young adult novels, also majorly sucessful much like her latest gig, already has fans hyperventalating over their favorite literary characters getting the Hollywood treatment.
When asked how she feels about entering the world of adaptations again, she says “It feels awesome. I certainly feel pressure, but in a good way, in a way that makes me want to do justice to this beloved character, Rose Hathaway, that much more.”
