With a career blighted by injury that saw him finish a disappointing 10th at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, long jumper Greg Rutherford had almost considered quitting the sport.
But his failures were a distant memory when he leapt to glory to win a gold medal in front of a home crowd – becoming the first British man to take the title in nearly 50 years.
